The Founders did not carry phones. They did not need to.

The record
The Declaration of Independence was adopted in 1776. Alexander Graham Bell received his telephone patent in 1876.
The Declaration contains no guidance on phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth, or solar calculators. Citing a founding document for a modern claim it cannot address is a way to borrow authority rather than earn it.
The footnote number is the year. That is the whole argument.
